|
YOU HAVE NOTICED YOUR TAP WATER HAVING AN UNPLEASANT TASTE AND/OR ODOR RECENTLY, PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CITY OF HORSESHOE BAY HAS SENT THE FOLLOWING NOTICE TO ITS RESIDENTS REGARDING THESE SAME ISSUES. SINCE OUR SOURCE OF WATER IS FROM THE HORSESHOE BAY WATER DEPARTMENT, WE ARE SHARING THOSE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THAT CITY. (Treated Flood Water just doesn’t taste or smell good!
“Posted on: June 15, 2016 Water Quality IssuesThe City of Horseshoe Bay is currently experiencing objectionable taste and odor issues in our drinking water. The reports started on June 8th and have been citywide. We traced the smell to the lake water that we treat. Other communities that draw water from the Colorado River currently share the same issue. The additional velocities from the large flood related releases from Lake Buchanan have stirred up bottom sediments that have contributed to the odors. All tests that we have conducted have indicated the water continues to be safe to drink, but can have an unpleasant odor. Disinfection levels throughout our water distribution system indicate that the water is safe to drink despite any odor. We appreciate your patience with this issue. If you have any questions or if you continue to have odor issues, please contact Steve Hawley with the City at (830) 598-9983 for assistance.” |
