|Dear Deerhaven POA Members:
The terms of four (4) members of the Board of Directors expire on June 30, 2021. This email is for you to review each candidate and be ready to vote via electronic voting starting on Sunday, April 18, 2021.
The Board of Directors have approved a process for secret ballots as set out in the Texas Property Code (TPC) (Section 209.0058) which includes cast by electronic voting. The TPC does, however require proof that every ballot is completed by a qualified property owner. This will be accomplished by confirmation that a vote was cast by your email address ONLY – this tool does not show how you voted, only that you did vote.
Per our Bylaws Article III. Membership – The members of the Deerhaven POA shall be all persons or entities, who are owners of real property in Deerhaven. A husband and wife, joint tenants, tenants in common, an entity, or an owner of multiple lots shall be counted as on member only and have only one vote.
The Board of Directors has approved the following candidates for your consideration. Below is the Candidate’s Biographical information for your review.
You will receive the electronic ballot via email (thru Survey Monkey) on Sunday, April 18, 2021 and will vote for up to four (4) Directors. Again, all votes ARE anonymous, this tool just tabulates the names of the candidates and does not show how you voted.
Here are the candidates running for Board Of Director for a two-year term July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2023:
Albert L. LaCasse, MD – We have owned our home in Deerhaven for two years. I’m a practicing anesthesiologist in San Antonio. While I’ve not previously held a position within a POA, I have extensive leadership experience in healthcare. I believe that this service-driven leadership will translate to my being an effective Board member. Currently, I’m a Regional Medical Director for Envision Healthcare, on the Management Committee for Tejas Anesthesia, Medical Director for an Ambulatory Surgery Center in San Antonio, and sit on the Clinical Review Committee for Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. Though we’ve only owned our home in Deerhaven for two years, it already feels like a lifetime of memories have been created. The sense of community that we’ve developed with our immediate neighbors is unlike anything we’ve experienced in other homes. My wife Carrie and I, along with our children John (10) and Sarah (7), would like to continue to grow our roots in Deerhaven. The unique community is truly special and we’d like to help maintain and improve this wonderful place.
Arlene Dahl – We have been living in beautiful Deerhaven for 4 years. My experience in serving in leadership roles were as President of PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Associates), a non-profit organization with Chapters all over the world, that promotes travel throughout the Pacific Rim. They also decide who is the best airline for the year, as well as the best hotel. They go into countries they have been destroyed by weather, earthquake, etc. to get to tourism back up as soon as possible. Also, was an Education Representative for a technical college that had 14 colleges around the US. I did presentations in 50 different high schools for students that were ready to graduate and not sure what they wanted to do with their life. I gave them many options. The student filled out a card if they were interested in our college and I called them to visit with them and their families to see if the school was right for them and if they were right for the school. I have had plenty of executive leadership as well as public speaking with all sorts of people of every age and background. I believe in “giving back” to our community and would be honored to serve on our Board. I love our community. I look forward to any contribution I can bring to continue to make it a “great” place to live.
Deborah Pesses – My occupation as a Yoga class instructor and as a Cosmetologists has helped me learn the skills necessary to communicate and engage with diverse groups of people. Volunteer for the American Cancer Society, headed their Look Good Feel Better Program for 6 yrs in Burnet County. Continue to provide cancer patients with free wigs and services for over 10 yrs. Served on a Board for the Down Syndrome foundation volunteered for Pet Pals. Served and worked on the Houston Rodeo committee for the past 16 yrs. I have lived in Deerhaven with my fiancé David Cotner for the past four years and recently acquired Lot 327 from the Slaters. Deerhaven is home to me and I would like to contribute and be part of the POA’s continued efforts to better our development for the benefit of all owners equally.
Gabe Pincelli – I have been a homeowner and full-time Deerhaven resident since 2013. I served on the Board of Directors from 2014 to 2016, again from 2019 to present, and currently serve on the Architectural Committee and as Park Commissioner. I am a graduate of San Diego State University, retired Naval Aviator, and work full time as a corporate pilot based in Horseshoe Bay. I met my wife, Amy, in 1994 while stationed in South Texas, and ultimately spent half of my 20-year naval career stationed in Texas. We have two sons: Quint, age 20 who attends Texas A&M and Chad, age 15 who attends Llano High School. I would like to continue to serve on the board in order to represent our residents and property owners in the management of our community. Of particular interest to me is preservation and maintenance of the common areas and amenities including the park, swimming pool, boat ramp, and dock. I believe ensuring that these amenities continue to be available for the enjoyment of our property owners is a key factor in maintaining the long-term value of our properties.
Paul Rossbach– I have been a landowner since 1996. Home since 2006. Lived here for 6 years. I have over 10 years serving on POA/HOA boards including the last 2 years serving on the Deerhaven POA Board. I want to continue to serve on the Deerhaven POA board to continue to make Deerhaven an even better place to live than it is now. This includes neighborhood upkeep and improvements while living within our budget, a proper balance of fair and legal application of our restrictions and architectural standards to protect the rights and happiness of all our community members and treating my neighbors with the respect they deserve.
David Wuest is working as the Deputy Clerk Administrator for the Honorable Judge Rocha, Precinct One in Llano County. He services Class C misdemeanor cases, Civil cases, Small and Debt claims, and other lines of business. He has worked with the Judge for two and half years.
David Wuest graduated from Texas State University and holds a master’s degree from Texas A&M. David retired with four decades of experience as a teacher, coach, and school administrator. David enjoys hunting, fishing, golf and household projects with his wife, Diane. David and Diane have lived in Deerhaven for over ten years.
David is currently on the POA Board of Directors as well as the Deerhaven Water Control and Improvement District Board of Directors. He serves as the Road Commissioner for the POA and holds the office of treasurer for the WCID.
David’s experience in planning, budgeting, maintenance/operations and implementation of what is best for the future of our great community makes him a committed and creditable candidate for the Deerhaven POA Board of Directors.
The results of the election will be announced at the Annual Meeting on Saturday, June 5, 2021.
