                 Welcome to Deerhaven!

In case you would like to know...........

It was in the spring of 2003 that the first "Pavilion Party" was held in the pavilion at Deerhaven Park.  It was a celebration of the completion by resident volunteers of the garden at the  monument entrance, pictured above, and the other entrance gardens in Deerhaven.  It seemed like a good idea and since then, the outdoor park parties have been continued and have become a popular occurrence on the last Fridays in the spring and fall months of each succeeding year since 2003.  These parties are not held during the summer months because of the heat and also because many residents are out of town.  The months that the parties are scheduled in are April, May, September and Ocbober.

The "Deerhaven Christmas Party" is an annual indoor event that is actually an extension of the outdoor parties. These five gatherings have become an excellent way for all of us who live in Deerhaven, both full time and part time, to become acquainted with, and get to know our neighbors better.  Usually 40 to 60 residents are in attendance and the menu is usually a covered dish one.  Notice of the upcoming parties are emailed to residents a week or two in advance of each party.  Although they are not a function of, or funded by, the POA, the parties are open to all residents and their guests.
